This auction is for an alder 1970 Fender Precision Bass body. It's the real deal, and suitable for any '60s or early '70s P project. It looks like the body was refinished in black, and then to natural; it was sealed with… varnish (?) that was not professionally applied. Apparently someone started to sand the varnish off from the back, but gave up without getting too far. The body weighs just under 4 pounds, a phenomenally light weight for vintage P from this era. There’s one extra screw hole on the side of the lower horn, but that’s it. All the appropriate dowel, router and tooling marks are easily visible. The contours aren’t too bad… see the photos. I’ve used this body with a variety of vintage (and reissue) Fender necks, and it’s got tone and comfort galore. I’ll ship it economically but safely packed, and at actual cost, via USPS Parcel Post. If you’re in a hurry and want it faster, Priority shipping is certainly an option. ~~ Vintage 1974 Fender Jazz Bass ~~ Genuine US 1974 model year Fender Jazz Electric Bass guitar. Re- finished 'Natural' with an all Maple neck, with Rosewood fret board and pearl block markers. Included as well is a Fender budget gig bag, well used. Also included is former owners strap by Ernie Ball. Specifics: Body, neck, neck plate, tuners, pickup plates, are all original to the bass. The pots are newer 250K CTS replacements. The pickups are genuine Fender Vintage RI. The knobs, control plate, bridge, thumb rest, and pickguard are genuine Fender replacements. The non- original parts were pro aged by Madison's Music. The bass looks amazing in it's relic condition. Overview: Although this bass is not for the collector, it is still basically original, with awesome tone from aged wood. There are no neck issues. No flips, heel rise, dead notes, etc. No buzzing with medium action. Truss rod works as intended and tight. The bass is strung with quality round wounds at this time. The pickups sound amazing, much better than stock. ( You may want to raise them to suit your playing style, the neck pickup seems a little weak, but measures 7.3K)! All electronics work flawlessly. The bass is light at just over 8.10 lbs. Body is Alder, and has lots of wear and aging to finish. It appears to have been Sunburst at one time, but the re finish job is very old and well done. The neck and frets are in good condition and the original tuners work perfectly. The bass has had intonation set, and is all ready for stage and studio. Just tune her up, no further work will be needed anytime soon! I certainly could part this old bass, ( for more $$ ), but I feel it deserves a better fate. Easily a restoration candidate, or simply enjoy it as is!!! Summary: What I am offering here at a bargain price is a wonderful vintage 38 year old Fender Bass.
